Katzra Sushi - San Diego

The sushi here is amazing! I enjoyed everything I ordered. They had a fantastic yellowtail, and the special roll named "Loading" has now become one of my favorites.

I've dined here a few times and always enjoyed the food. However, I've noticed something concerning in the past. The sushi chef has been quite vocal with the waitstaff, and I brushed it off until today. It turns out they only open for dinner. I arrived at the door at 5:08, and the chef rudely yelled at me without informing me of the opening time. When I politely inquired about when they'd be opening, he mentioned it would be in about 30 to 45 minutes. He softened his tone once he realized I was disappointed. I find it unacceptable how he treated me, and I don’t think I’ll be returning.

We didn’t take any photos because we were too busy devouring the food! Steven came out to demonstrate how he likes to serve the Mexican roll, which was incredible! The house salad was fantastic, and the spicy garlic emma was the best I’ve ever had. The nigiri featured excellent cuts and portions. It’s clear that he not only loves creating great food but also ensures we enjoy every bit of it. I highly recommend this place — a solid 10/10! We’ll definitely be back soon.

The people who own this sushi bar are incredibly sweet and very friendly! I am here twice now and they have me and my friends feel incredibly welcome and made the whole visit incredibly joyful! I can't stop recommending this place to people. both of them that I went were to the birthday of my friends and they really went beyond and beyond to make it special. the first time I just followed with my friends and had an explosion right now. as my other group of friends so wanted to go to sushi place for a birthday, I had to recommend this place only, and serious 5 stars plus some, they made the experience the best! legitimate cannot stop recommending this place!

This was a great find. Service was great, sushi chef was super friendly. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. We started with edamame, beef gyoza, and tuna sashimi. The gyoza was cooked to perfection, and the sashimi was quality and served with a ponzu sauce and side salad. Both rolls we tried were amazing. Rain Tuna roll and Calamari Tempira roll were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. Highly recommend.
