Joe's Crab Shack - San Diego

I visited this restaurant twice for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed both times. During my second visit, we shared the crab steampot, which was of excellent quality. The service was attentive and very helpful in explaining the menu options. The prices were quite reasonable, and there was a great selection of drinks. I look forward to returning to San Diego and dining here again in the evening as well.

A coworker has been praising this restaurant for years, so when I found myself in the neighborhood, I decided to give it a try. The food was good, and as a seafood lover, I'm always on the lookout for more seafood places, but I didn't find anything particularly special here. Most of the dishes were served in galvanized buckets, which made me hope they were lead-free. I've definitely had better seafood, but I’ve also had much worse. The prices are reasonable given that crab and seafood tend to be pricey. I'd say 4 stars is a bit generous, but 3 stars doesn’t quite capture the experience either.

I visited this restaurant while traveling and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, and our waitress, Aoife, went above and beyond to make us feel at home and appreciated. Since it was my birthday, she made us feel especially welcome. We will definitely be returning!

I fell in love with this place. First of all, it has a wonderful view. Second, the interior design is very cute. We had some appetizers like the Crab Nachos which were awesome!! The dip is amazing! We also had the super sampler. The crab cakes were heavenly and hot! For mains, I had the Lobster and Redfish. It was good too! And then there’s a platter which comes with a side of mac n cheese which does not show on the online menu. The mac n cheese tasted so good. It’s definitely a place worth visiting.
