Fairouz - San Diego

The vegan gyro and baba ganouj at this restaurant were not only delicious and filling, but the artwork by the owner's brother was a perfect addition to the dining experience. The conversation with the owner was engaging and interesting, leading me to purchase two prints of the paintings. I would visit San Diego again just to dine at Fairouz.

This was my first time trying a gyro, and I was excited to find a vegetarian option. The spices were delicious and I also enjoyed the babaganush. The owner, who has been there for 37 years, is also an artist with a beautiful art gallery of his own paintings. I noticed he also has an autograph from Jerry Garcia.

I loved the vegan meat gyro and the house made creamy sauce. it would be helpful to mark the menu for vegans.

Really nice little restaurant, with many vegan options and a friendly owner whose art is on the display.

Great array of vegetable-based dishes. Thankfully, no days meat. Several lentil offerings (soup, with rice and onion, cold salad), others with chickpeas. Cabbage, zucchini, IKEA, tomatoes...real food!
