There was a white woman who bypassed me and sat near the door, but I didn't make a fuss about it. As I walked around a bit, I saw the Asian woman lighting a cigarette a few meters away. Suddenly, a staff member came out and informed me that smoking was not allowed within 25 feet of the building. I was taken aback by the sudden confrontation and asked for their name while recording the incident on my phone. The staff member apologized and said they would call security if I didn't leave. The white woman who had cut ahead of me in line also chimed in, demanding that I leave or she would call security. Feeling pressured and anxious, as a black man dealing with two white women who were not treating me with respect, I tried to remain calm. The staff member insisted that I leave, and I complied, feeling that the situation could escalate if I didn't. As I left the premises, I overheard the Asian man apologizing on my behalf. I couldn't help but wonder if the situation would have been handled differently if the staff member had been dealing with an Asian woman instead. Nonetheless, I decided to let the unpleasant incident go and not dwell on it. As a 36-year-old black man in America, I've learned to navigate such situations and not let them affect me.

This coffee house in the city of San Diego is amazing! The baristas are friendly and the setting is beautiful. They offer a large menu featuring sandwiches alongside classic pastries. I highly recommend trying their egg sandwich on multi-grain toast. Their paprika is also delicious and flavorful. The outdoor tables in front of the cafe are a nice spot to sit and enjoy your food and drinks. Many locals frequent this place, so the atmosphere is almost always fantastic!

This restaurant is seriously amazing! As someone who used to run a coffee shop, I know how easy it is to make a bad cup of coffee. That's why I was nervous to try coffee from other places and spend money. But my experience here was fantastic! I love chatting with the friendly employees, even though I'm not usually one to chat with strangers. I tried both the hot and cold coffees, and they were both great! I especially enjoyed the almond milk honey cinnamon latte and the Hillcrest sandwich with added bacon. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

Achilles is the place my team worked in san diego for a few weeks and the whole crew on fourth and j are wonderful. laana, nathalie and otherrew were a joy to see daily and they make a medium cup of coffee/latte/you call it, it is good. What about eating? Bangin’. allis yummy and the people in the kitchen are amazing. everyone here works is the mwp. I miss this joint when we leave san diego.

Pretty decent almond milk latte, although not my favorite ever
