Orso Grigio - SAN CANDIDO

Thanks again to the wonderful staff at the Bar Dell'Orso! We were guests there a week or so ago and had a great time over morning coffee and afternoon cocktails at our hotel cafe. Great service, great drinks, great snacks, and an overall lovely experience. Thank you!

Set in the middle of the pedestrian area of this nice alpine village, the restaurant is part of the hotel, that if my menory is well working is over 500 years old, We dined outside, as the day was simply great and warm. The guy taking care of our table was fromVeneto and di a really great job . We had barley soup, a selction of cured meets, some pasta with wild ragout , and all what came to our table was impeccable under any point of view, good portions, great quality of products and serious breads . And all while enjoying the view of the baroque church that I recommend you to vist after the break at Orso Grigio, wish you another 500 years of history

I don 't speak or read Italian but I can tell that 2 out of 3 reviewers didn 't think much of Orso Grigio as a restaurant. I am very surprised. My wife and I are here currently for our honeymoon trip and are halfway through a week 's stay. We have been amazed by the food both breakfasts and dinners. We aren 't staying on the basis of half board, which means we only have to look after lunch ourselves. Which is good as we are out hiking every day so lunch is either a picnic in the mountains or somewhere in one of the many refuges. Back to Orso Grigio we are a same sex couple (just got married in the Netherlands), and feel every welcome here. And the food is amazing. Every night there is a different theme, with a minimum of three courses served and we haven 't been disappointed yet. And we are used to good food in Melbourne, Australia! Last night we experienced the south Tirol dessert banquet dinner Nd we couldn 't believe it: after the first two courses (a delicious potato soup and a veal dish for me, my wife had something else that I can 't remember), there were about 25 differs types of desserts to choose from. I tried 3, and they were all delicious. It is this kind of spread that makes us feel truly spoiled. Tonight 's theme is the aperitif dinner and it 's about to start so we are going down to the dining hall to experience it! I can 't recommend this place enough as a retreat, both in terms of accommodation and food!

Centro di san candido, si può anche fare un pranzo veloce a base di carni di qualità e panini. Non è molto economico, ma l'Alto Adige lo è.

Da Dobbiaco, più puramente agricolo e turistico, ci sono circa km di strada (che continua e arriva all'austria) e si arriva a san candido, città turistica con alberghi e ristoranti e monumenti interessanti, ma anche industriali, vedere senfter e altri. vicino alla bella chiesa di San michele, alla fine del bagno pedonale, tra gli altri c'è lo storico hotel orso grigio, dotato di bar e gastronomia. lo spostamento ha molti tavoli sempre presi in considerazione per l'ottima posizione e, a mio parere, per la qualità del cibo. Venerdì avevano due panini al salmone, così buono che anche il sabato ci è piaciuto rigotarli. due panini kaiserwasser lt e due caffè due panini kaiserwasser lt e due caffè evidenziano l'attento e cortese servizio del giovane grazioso (signora/signorina).
