Kilimanjaro Restaurant - San Borja

The food is moderate and the service is slow. It is the only restaurant of its kind in Peru. I definitely like Rainforest Cafe better, but it serves its purpose. The kids had fun and that counts.

We celebrated our son's birthday in the restaurant and we all enjoyed the delicious meals and recommendations of the staff. The show was a surprise for us because we didn't know about the show before we left. My children even loved the 3-year-old and were not afraid of it. Since we celebrated a birthday, we received a cake and an ice cream after lunch. It was a nice afternoon and definitely recommend the place, but maybe try to go during the week, so it is not so busy

My family visited my 11-year-old son's birthday. A waterfall welcomes you when approaching the entrance. Some fun features inside include a puppet stage singing for birthday parties, high chairs and bar stools made in the similarity of animal legs, as well as animated animals throughout. A light experience that includes a rainstorm and lighting as well as flash errors. The menu contained a good variety. Between our family we ate the ribs, the chicken plate, lasagna and oriental chicken. The whole food had a good taste and was very full.

The setting is somehow standard, the menu is Peruvian style, no vegetarian choices at all, waiter are not service oriented, and do not know anything about the menu. We were 3 adults and 2 small children. The waiter forgot to order the kid's meals, they brought only the adults' meals after one hour! After complaining the kids meal was brought after 20 more minutes, now imagine a kids restaurant that takes one hour and twenty minutes to serve the food. They did not even say I am sorry, a total disaster for a place that services kids mainly. If not what for? what adults are going to look for a plastic animal setting? or kids' food? There was no restaurant manager on site, just a more experienced server that was unable to takeover or solve the issue. The animal show took place only once every hour or less, because the remote control that made it work did not have in good shape working batteries. Would not recommend, nothing special! It's a big NO!
