Cotehele - Saltash

It's not something you come across every day, but I'm open to the experience of ghosts! The location is beautiful, featuring a lovely orchard. The house is both impressive and rich in history.

We explored another path down to the quay, which was unfortunately closed for renovations, and then made our way back to the train station. The ticket cost only £4; it would have been £5, but I’m thankful for the discount. I plan to return in early summer when the gardens will be in full bloom, allowing for a much richer experience of these fantastic gardens.

This place feels like a holiday home, providing everything you could possibly need. It is very cozy and exceptionally quiet. During our week-long stay, we experienced quite a bit of rain, but it didn’t dampen our vacation at all. The staff and volunteers from the National Trust were a delight to be around, making us feel incredibly welcome—I cannot praise them enough! There are beautiful walks right from the doorstep, including a lovely trek to the pubs in Calstock. We also enjoyed various trails to Cotehele House and its stunning gardens. There's a potter with a workshop behind the house who is definitely worth visiting. And we can't forget about Dusty, the local cat—he certainly appreciates any tasty treats that come his way. We will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely location for a visit, with the flower garland on display. Very knowledgeable and friendly guides. The tea room is large and has a good selection of cakes, including gluten free. Dogs are allowed in many of the areas on the estate and it is very dog friendly. The walk down to the quay is quite steep, there is a volunteer-driven bus up and down if needed. Disabled parking is right by the house.

Lovely house and gardens, the service in the cafe was very slow. There is a mini bus that runs between the house, the quay and the mill. Nice walk but you need to be fit.
