WA ME Chinese Restaurant

Authentic? Yes! And that's good!. This is a great little place. Kind of a small diner in appearance, you'll miss it if you blink. But the food is incredible! I'm a bit of a Chinese food snob, having lived in Taiwan for a couple of years so I'm always looking for food that tastes like I remember. It's very hard to find in Utah, but WA ME definitely has it! Their specialty is "Chinese Donburi" which, despite the oxymoronic name, is the closest thing to homestyle Chinese cooking I've yet eaten in Utah. All the "Donburi" means is that the entree is served on a bed of rice in a glass pie plate (or over a big bowl of soup) rather than on a platter with rice on the side. It makes for a wonderful, filling, no fuss lunch. I haven't tried any of the Americanized items they're obliged to put on their menu, but the green bean beef, tomato eggs, and twice-cooked streaky pork are all beyond excellent. And the hsiao lung bao are to die for! If you like GOOD Chinese food, eat here.

Best pho everI used to drive to their location close to downtown until I realized there was one in west valley.

I had to update my review and give this place five stars.
