Contribuiți la feedbackAfter watching an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri, I made sure to bookmark this restaurant. When I found out it was a Venezuelan restaurant, I knew I had to give it a try. Although I visit Salt Lake City frequently, I hadn't had the chance to stop by until now. I ordered the pulled pork and shredded beef arepas, which were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. I also tried the fried plantains, which were a fantastic choice. And of course, I couldn't pass up a Polar beer, a delicious Venezuelan pilsner that was imported and definitely worth trying. I highly recommend this restaurant for its amazing food and location. Enjoy!
My husband and I visited the restaurant Arepas in Midvale on a Saturday afternoon around 3. Our overall impression was positive - the restaurant was clean, had nice decor, and fun music playing. The service we received was pretty good, although we were seated in an empty area while the other side of the restaurant was getting all the patrons. Our waiter arrived 5-10 minutes later and was very knowledgeable about the menu, as it was our first time there. I ordered the pabellon arepa, which was a fried corn meal biscuit filled with meat, cheese, and sweet plantains. It was a unique taste combination that I enjoyed, although I wished the filling was more evenly distributed and the shell was tough to eat. My husband chose the fried pork and cheese cachapa, which he liked a lot despite the almost too crispy pork. Overall, we had a good experience and appreciated that almost all of the menu items were gluten free, as I have a gluten intolerance. We look forward to returning in the future.
While traveling through the west and dining at various interstate stops, it was a refreshing change to come across this restaurant. We decided to try an arempa (grilled chicken), a cachapa (pulled pork), and an empanada (shredded beef, plantain, black beans). All of the dishes were delicious, but our favorite was the empanada. We had no problems ordering at the counter and the service was prompt. Our bill came out to $40, including tax and tip, as we opted for tap water to drink.
I stumbled across this place while in the area for a conference. The staff was outside giving samples and we knew we picked the right spot! Everyone was so beyond friendly, helpful and patient while we decided what to get. You get huge portions for the price. I got the pork arempas while a co worker got the empanadas. So delicious. I would highly recommend it! It was even featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dines!!
This place was fun and easy to find downtown SLC. The atmosphere here was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Very casual. I believe we ordered the patacon with chicken. It was good but wasn’t really flavorful.
