Contribuiți la feedbackI opted for the half-and-half plate, selecting chicken and beef brisket, and chose coleslaw and baked beans as my sides. I didn't have high expectations, thinking, "How good can barbecue be when it's prepared by Asians?" I was completely mistaken! The food was absolutely delicious. The beef brisket was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the chicken was juicy but already cut into pieces. My friend mentioned that it usually comes as a whole breast or thigh. The baked beans were tasty, and the coleslaw was refreshing. Their barbecue sauce on the table was fantastic—some sauces were a bit tangy while others had a delightful kick. I loved the combination of their original and spicy sauces. The prices for the barbecue are quite reasonable, and the portions are generous, leaving you feeling very satisfied. This place is definitely worth a visit, and I would happily return, even if just for takeout!
My husband is a pulled pork enthusiast and tries it everywhere he goes. He declared this as the best he's ever had, which is quite a statement coming from someone who smokes his own occasionally. Normally, I avoid ordering pulled pork because it can be dry, but this was incredibly moist and delicious. And can we talk about the sauces? We tried a spicy, tangy sauce and a sweeter, tangy one, both of which were so fantastic that I could enjoy them on their own. The smoked beans were very tasty, especially after I mixed in a little sauce. While I’m not a fan of mac and cheese or mashed potatoes, my family is. However, I found the mac at 565 to be lacking in flavor and a bit mushy. The meats came with sides of pickle slices, hot peppers, and onions, which paired perfectly with the sauce-covered meat. I can't wait to dine in next time and might try the curry. If you appreciate good smoked BBQ, you need to eat here! You definitely won’t be disappointed.
At first glance, the restaurant appeared inviting, featuring a bold, clear sign out front and a chalkboard menu. The ambiance was decent, with mismatched chairs and wooden floors, but we quickly spotted water damage on the ceiling, which was a concerning sign. We found the menu somewhat confusing, even though the owner attempted to clarify it for us; our server seemed uncertain too, leaving us a bit puzzled. Once we placed our order, the food was served fairly quickly. I opted for the 1/4 lb pork ribs with mac and cheese and beans, while my husband went for grilled chicken, brisket, and the same sides. The pork ribs were definitely the highlight of our meal, although that isn’t saying much. The chicken and brisket were tender but lacked flavor in various ways. The mac and cheese, however, was quite disappointing—it tasted old and like it had been warmed up in a microwave. The beans were also microwaved, but they were slightly improved by the bits of meat mixed in. While 565 Firehouse clearly has its supporters, I wasn’t surprised to see it so quiet on a Friday night. At least now I know where I can save some money in 2018!
The great reviews brought me in. Also, that they are open Sunday. It's a most unusual concept to have Thai and BBQ in the same place. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any real fusion overlap going on. We didn't have anything beyond the traditional BBQ. In the end, acceptable BBQ, but nothing that stands out. I rarely go beyond the standard brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. The brisket was pretty dry, the ribs were good, and the pulled pork was OK. The smoke didn't come through as much as I'd like. To be honest, the sides fit the yea, they cover the bases, but nothing stood out. I can't give any opinion on the Thai food because that wasn't what we were after.
Hot damn! The food here is a hot mess, in the best way possible. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I'm drooling just reminiscing of the burger. I loved the fact that they had a few bottles of condiments on the table so that you can choose which one you wanted and apply as much as your heart desires. Needless to say, this place is a hole in the wall that deserves your business. Awesome menu and nice staff and owners. As it was my first time visiting SLC, the place was basically a house that was turned into businesses, seems very common around the city. I loved the combination of bbq and Thai mixed together. Overall, I enjoyed it very much.
