Brigg's Pub - Saint John

For a pub I wasn't sure what to expect. I am guessing I expected pub food not upscale pretentious pub food. I had a upscale version of chicken fingers. Meh it was good not fantastic. Hubby had the turkey poutine not fantastic either. I probably won't eat here again.

I took my husband and several family members here to celebrate a milestone birthday. I had called ahead for reservations and although we arrived early our table was all set up and ready for us. Our server, Aaron, was most helpful and efficient, advising on the menu, wiping up spilled drinks and attending to our every whim. The fare reminds one of a typical British Pub menu but the difference here is that the food is well cooked and delicious. This may be due to Pam Spicer's, a co-owner's British upbringing, Chef Jan's knowledge in the kitchen or the fact that all of their fish and seafood is locally sourced. Whatever the reason the fish and chips cannot be beat and I can personally vouch for the seared scallops. Yum! It is also worth noting that one does not have to be associated with the golf course in order to eat or drink here. In fact, Britt's is conveniently located near both the university and the hospital. Prices are very reasonable too!

The Saint John Ale House is located right next to the Hilton in Uptown Saint John and can be accessed from with the Market Square or from the boardwalk

Great service and the burger was one of the best burgers that I've ever eatenThey provided the best gluten free bun that I've ever eaten.

Best mussels so far! Ask for grilled bread to go with them instead of fries.
