Rootbound - Saint Charles

If I could give this place 6 stars I would, the food is so tasty and good for you and the people and atmosphere are amazing!

They even accept orders on the days they are closed. You won't receive it. And you will wait not knowing. But you can order.

Very unique and quirky place for more plant based meals.

As a plant based eater, I 've tried to make myself love this place on more than one occasion. I 've been disappointed almost every single time. While the wait times aren 't ideal, I would be able to tolerate that for high quality food. Unfortunately, Rootbound does not meet that criteria. Three times I 've ordered a waffle and every single time the waffles were both burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside with next to no flavor. I 've had to go back to ask for a full serving of their overpriced kombucha when the pour was embarrassingly low. Their juices are fine. If you 're going there for a juice, okay.. In addition to the waffles, their other main dishes left a lot to be desired. I think this place is more of an idea that was poorly executed than an environment worth visiting. High costs, bad food, long wait times.

I got the black bean burger and it was delicious and fresh. Best GF bread I've ever tastedI LOVED the cold brew coffee such a great flavor even without sweetener!
