Hodak's Restaurant Bar - Saint Albans

A St. Louis mainstay, Hodak's is known for its juicy fried chicken and jack salmon. This was my first trip, and while there were many comfort dishes n the menu, I had to try the chicken. T was so good and the plate was so big, I took most of it home with me. Great French fries. I know, but these fries were lightly brown and crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside.

This place is a St. Louis must stop. The chicken tender salad is my new go to meal. They have great chicken, the green beans are one of my favorite sides. We used to visit for every occasion, but now it’s a must before a concert and when friends come in from out of town. They do get busy in the afternoon, early is best if you don’t like crowds.

The chuckwagon soup I ate here was the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. 10/10

Great food and plenty of it at very reasonable price. Excellent service and very enjoyable ambiance.

I stopped by to pick up some of their excellent chicken livers for a friend. As always, the place is clean and well staffed.
