Lovin Oven Cakery, LLC - Round Lake

Custom cupcakes, donuts and cakes for the birthday of my granddaughter ordered. Lovin The oven has done a fantastic job, the staff was super helpful and friendly, but the reason I gave only four stars are the donuts we are on the dry side. I was disappointed. But the cakes and cupcakes were spot on, super damp and so delicious!

The cake ordering process is much too dirty. You need to call and talk to someone who asks you to send the design of your cake by email. The email does not count as an order. You need to call them back, wait until they find the above e-mails, and then hear how they slowly enter the information from the e-mail into the system. The entire process can be tightened. I am a very long time customer, but after my last attempt to place an order that interacts with personnel who could not have been rude, I must take my business elsewhere.

Great cake art, it was really delicious. Flavors are good and the cake texture was amazing.

In my professional opinion, based on decades of food, the biggest cake in the world is Key Lime Pie. If you want to argue with me, you can, but you're wrong. I was so happy when I saw that Lovin' oven had it! If you're not over and love bakery, you're missing. You're amazing. But I'm just so disappointed. This cake clearly marked, Key Lime Pie, after this first bite, has no key lime in it. I have no idea what it is. After another bite it is clearly a Key Lime Pie without Key Lime juice in it. It is velvety smooth and has the perfect amount of sweetness. The crust is amazing. (take another bite). Custard cake? What kind of cake is that? (Finishes pie) In my professional opinion, based on decades of food, there are 2 largest cakes in the world. Even if they're freaking out, they'll get 5 stars...

Everything in there is great from the bread to their cakes and cookies. If you're getting something special for the holidays, try and get there a day or two earlier. As they are very busy and sell out quickly.
