When in Rome we knew we must try the famous Sorchetta. Down a steep flight of stairs, the place itself does not look the grandest. However, upon trying the Sorchetta, we understood why the area is such a popular late night haunt. After ordering one each, we immediately went back for two more they were so addictive! If you are in the area at a time when most places are closing, this unassuming place is definitely worth a trip.
When sitting in this slightly dingey looking cafe you'll wonder why it comes so highly recommended. you'll also see the proprietor on a rolling dvd showing all the tv appearances he's made and wonder what he's so famous for. then, you'll try the sorchetto and it'll aaaallll become clear : think a light crispy/fluffy croissant with chantilly cream and nutella on top and it's even better than what you're thinking. we went back every evening throughout our stay. the pizza was also very good. open 9.30pm to 4am so a good late night haunt. tell naeem that ayub recommended it and he'll take good care! all in all GO AND TRY IT! seriously stop reading this and go (unless it's daytime, in which case be there when it opens for the fresh stuff as it comes out of the oven.. mmmmm
Molto bene, davvero, consigliabile. carbone cremoso. servizio extra da pino! ci torneremo sicuramente
Need a late night snack in Rome? You must go to sorchetta doppio schizzo and ask for a sorchetta . I am told it is one of a kind; made nowhere else. A flat croissant with cream, topped with whipped cream and Nutella. Amazing!!!! We went at 5:30am after a long night. Just what you need before bed! They also serve pizza and some other pastry.
