An unpreparing and du-canned-near-miss-it-de-storefront hides a sniff! this place was located during our stay in rom to our destination. breakfast, lunch and dinner, we were never disappointed. they had everything deli meat and cheese, pizza, sweet tasty, cakes, coffee, delicious main dishes (meat dishes,...salads etc.) and to the breakfast there were also beautiful fresh pastries and obstsalat with yogurt etc. We were literally every day for a week for most meals. the waiting staff was incredibly friendly and we had some great talks despite our extremely limited knowledge of Italian and their limited English. (the limited English was actually a good sign, as it seemed that there were mainly locals here.) some of our favorite dishes included the plate of Deli meat and cheese served with crispy breadt seasoned with rosmarin and sea salt; fresh fruit salad; the pizza with prosciutto and mushroom the list goes on and it was all incredibly favorable. we would eat like kings and then get a bill that didn't hurt the hip bag very unusual in rom, and especially welcome also after we were originally completely cut off in another caffe around the corner. finding this place was a welcome pardon of the bad tourist food and stupid high prices they find at so many places in this city. when we were gone, we felt like one of the locals. Do not miss it when they are in the Prati district!
We visited this place twice during the stay in rom. the first trip was when we first arrived, from the peak time (4pm) for a fast meal, had not yet lunch. the black truffle paste was amazing and the pizza is fresh and quite large. the second. time was for dinner in the last night. well expensive food that is cooked quickly. the calf was tender and the gravur was delicious (scored them all with fresh brot.) the atmosphere is that of a deli type with meat and fresh brot as well as a plan box for desserts. the wine is offered by the bottle or the glass and the coffee is made fresh. during dinner there were many locals (we were the only tourist at the place;) always a good sign. would definitely go back for a quick or cozy good-priced dinner or lunch.
Very nice place, especially if they are looking for a quick lunch, or if they are not really lust for a complete dinner. we landed there by the advice of the host of the
Walking by this place there was a sign that said for a few hours (they specified the time) in the evening there was a dinner buffet and for the same price you would get wine. Traveling on a budget, this struck my interest. Returning later...in the evening, my group was seated with no wait. We said we wanted a buffet and before we received our food we got bread to snack on. The server promptly brought a tray of four different foods, salads, sandwiches, roasted vegetables, etc for each person at the table. After that, we received a platter with a sampling of their pizzas. Everything tasted very fresh and it made for a satisfying dinner, especially with some wine. We were stuffed. We loved it so much, we returned the next night. They bill was very reasonable for the generous portions that they serve. The place seems to be a family business, maybe brothers and sons. One of the owners was very friendly and although there was a language barrier, we were able to communicate well and even shared a few laughs.
