Mulberry Grill Bakery - ROCHEPORT

I'm not quite sure how to express the exceptional quality of the pizza here. It's truly impressive and definitely deserves a 5-minute detour from I70, not to mention being a great stop on a bike trip along the MKT trail. The owner has created an authentic Italian brick oven pizza experience. If you look through the order counter, you'll spot a real dough machine in the back—when was the last time you saw one of those? The result is a light, airy, and absolutely delicious pizza, with plenty of ingredient options. Unfortunately, there are no anchovies, but considering we're in the middle of Missouri, I can't hold that against him. This place is truly a hidden gem worth making a special trip for. I've had my fair share of pizzas in Italy, San Francisco, and New York—far too many, in fact. But this is the real deal. Just a heads-up, it's not easy to find. Follow the trail due east, and you'll spot it on the right just before the tunnel.

Fantastic spot located right on the Katy Trail in Rocheport, just before the historic railroad tunnel. The outdoor seating and wood-fired pizza oven create a perfect resting place during a bike ride. If you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere and delicious handmade pizza, you definitely need to give this place a try! And did I mention they have $10 bottles of local wine? Just a heads-up, they're only open from Friday to Sunday.

We ate here on a sunny, windy, Saturday afternoon. It overlooks the Katy Trail, and has only outdoor seating. There's a wood fired oven on the patio, where they fire up the most delicious pizzas! We had the one with olives, bell peppers, onions, sausage, pepperoni, goat cheese and cherry tomatoes. The goat cheese was such a savory addition. They have wine and several beers, as well as sodas. Also, the food came really fast! I'd gladly eat here again!

We absolutely adore this place! It's so much fun to bring our bikes here, go for a ride, and enjoy some wine beneath the massive mulberry tree.

Simple, small, good. Mulberry Grill is a tiny cafe right off the Katy Trail. Bike racks out front. Order from the window and your food is brought to table on the patio. Seating is in shelters open on one side. The owners are personable, and they do it all: taking orders, serving, preparing food. Cash or check only. Very good baking drives the food here: sandwiches with excellent bread, pizza from the wood-fired oven, other high quality baked goods. Nice portion sizes and reasonable prices. Small menu, but everything we had was very good. Fresh ingredients and made to order. Our only complaint: storebought dressing for an otherwise perfect salad.
