El Rancho - Rivesaltes

The French don't like spicy food and this place caters to the French taste buds. So if you don't like spicy food and never had real Mexican or Tex-Mex, this might be ok for you Me, I love Tex-Mex and miss it a lot since I moved to France. Good: ice cold Negra Modelo. Ok: chili actually had chili powder, which is rare in France, but it was just a little hot and not complex with many flavors like a good chili. Bad: everything else. Burrito had lots of steamed onions and no Mexican flavor. Chips weren't quite Doritos but not really normal corn chips either. Guacamole? Green library paste.

We ordered a wide variety of Mexican food. The service was a bit on the slow side but not so much so that it was annoying. The food was 'ok' but didn't really have the solid Mexican flair that you find in southern California. The guacamole was unspectacular but the rest of the food was ok.The oddest part was the chips. Rather than being traditional Mexican Chips, they were seasoned. It was kind of like eating Doritos chips. That being said, they were pretty good.

Had a lovely meal here. All well cooked and presented. The waitress was helpful and very patient with our limited french.

We visited as we needed to eat late and knew it was open at 9.30 pm onwards. The food was average but did not really know what a French take on Tex Mex food would be. Service was ok . Would have liked chilli sauces to rack up the heat as bland to my taste. Useful place due to location, although went on a Saturday reasonably busy went past again on Thursday evening and it was shut..

This restaurant is bad. The service is lower than on a market. The waiting time is long and the management don't know how to organize a restaurant.The food, par example a Enchilada, what is typical Mexican food, had no taste. The waitress who served the wine, was opening the bottle with good material, but on the most terrible way I ever saw.The table water came on the end of the meal...So, take my advice, seach an other restaurant, there are there a lot in that area.
