Contribuiți la feedbackWe discovered La Berbère last summer shortly after it opened and returned this year while we were in Perpignan. The tagines are authentic and delicious, the salads seasoned with spices that make them a real treat, and the sorbets for dessert are quite original and homemade The owners are charming and make their customers feel completely at home. This is really a gem of a restaurant, where outstanding cooking can be enjoyed for an extremely reasonable price. You will not regret the effort of finding this restaurant in the Las Cobas neighborhood of Perpignan!
Everything about this restaurant is wonderful. The food was amazing, beautifuly spiced without being overdone. I had the eggplant salad (divine!), perfectly marinated chicken kebabs, and a lovely green sald with sunflower seeds and a tart dressing. Yum. My friends had the lamb tagine and it was beautifuly prepared and seasoned, arrived at the table piping hot with homemade pita. I was lucky enough to have a taste, and next time that is what I will order (with the eggplant, of course). The desserts were equally fabulous. Lovely sorbets with Mediterranean flavorings, unusual but very tasty and refreshing. All the sorbets were served with a small pastry--one a crunchy version of a sugar cookie, one with dates, and another with sesame seeds. More yum. And I haven't even talked about the wine the owner recommended--went perfectly with the meal--or the nice decor--or how friendly and helpful the owner and cooks were helping us make our choices. And best of all, the price was fair, well below what I am used to paying for a comparable meal in the UK or the USA. Go try it, you'll be glad you did.
We stayed near Perpignan old town but decided to visit this restaurant on the basis of previous reviews and were very pleased we did. It took only 20 minutes to reach and is in a very pleasant, calm residential area. It feels exactly like a good family run resto should - that you are in someone's home. The menu is small but with a good choice of dishes - we ate chicken barboute- chicken in coriander and other spices in a home made bread pocket served with salad. For dessert we had mint tea and sorbet from orange, lemon, verbena and carrot. Other flavours on offer were equally original and tempting. The use of spices in all dishes was exquisite. The owner, Jordi took great care to explain each dish and was very attentive to particular requests such as avoiding nuts and seeds. I highly recommend this restaurant!
If you visit perpignan or if you live in the area you have to eat at this restaurant. owners, jordi and zahra welcome you warmly. delicate flavors will seduce you. You're gonna like the beatings or the greatest meal. Do not hesitate to taste the desserts, which include sorbets that the family created. i love this restaurant, and i go at least once every time i visit perpignan a few times a year. extraordinary food, all created with great care and imagination, and well priced. it's away from the tourist centre of the city, eassili accessible by bus
We are staying at an Airbnb apartment in Perpignan and just went here because it was close by and we were tired from travel. We never would have expected to experience what has been one of the most deliciuous, delightful and unusual dinners of our trip, so far one week in Provence. Jordy and his wife Zahra make unique dishes based on authenitic Moroccan cuisine, making their own bread, even importing spices from Morocco. The service was great and the bill was far lower than made any sense considering the quality of the meal. The restuarant is small, modern, and super clean. It is located in a quiet neighborhood near, but not in the center of Perpignan,so best to let GPS or Google direct you. No problem parking.
