Contribuiți la feedbackBeautiful place. The rooms are nice, but be advised early check-in, usually never is true.It is only a request. So come at 4. I also didn't get the room i booked whatsoever! I got a nice room, but not the one i booked. All staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean comfortable.
I loved how everything there is feels special. Especially when you know the background! I wouldn't recommend it for young children the place is tightly kept so 7+ depending one how well behaved they are. The restaurants there have amazing food and the bar has so much to offer view wise and drink wise. Quite the experience and worth every bit of money.
Awesome experience. It’s a several hour drive from my house, so it’s an overnight destination. Lots of architectural and historical significance here. A tour of the chapel is well worth it, so plan accordingly. Restaurants are great! Day spa is great! It ain’t cheap-but you get what you pay for! It didn’t give stars for location. It’s far away and I only stay at the Inn when I’m there.
Really fun and beautiful hotel. The restaurants are great inside and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was super special. Love the holiday lights as well.
If you 're a history buff, this hotel is chock full of Spanish/California history. If you 're a fine hotel buff, you might think of staying elsewhere. Here 's a play-by-play: Check-In. Attempted check-in at 2 pm, was told that any room occupancy before 3 pm would be subject to a $50 surcharge! Never heard that one before. Wi-Fi. Extremely weak, froze frequently, sometimes didn 't allow access at all. Aggravating, but wait, there 's more. Charge was $10 per 24 hours, non-waivable according to staff. (Thought hotels stopped this practice a decade ago . Elevators. Old, rickety, beaten up. The inspection certificates posted for both elevators expired 6 months ago, in Feb 2023! If there were current inspection certificates, they were not in evidence. Restaurant. Food was generally OK, though not particularly interesting. Hard to believe, but there were 2 headers on the wine part of the menu labelled Intristing Whites and Intristing Reds . Basic spell check not deployed, apparently. Room. Clean, but layout extremely awkward. Balcony, but no chairs or table to allow sitting outside. Stayed 2 nights, but room was not made up after 1st night. No explanation for the omission. Bathroom quite outdated. Staff. Seemed like plenty of staff but, with occasional exceptions (Trattoria, e.g. , service was generally slow and indifferent. Just seemed like no one was proud to be working here. (Lack of training might be to blame. Fitness Center. Could write a paragraph on it, but why have a fitness center at all if you don 't allocate any space and don 't provide sufficient basic equipment? Overall Take: There is nothing wrong with the bones of this place, and it seems adequately staffed, but a serious amount of investment would be required for infrastructure improvements, management and staff training, to bring it up to current fine hotel standards. The lack of such an investment is pretty obvious everywhere you look. Would love to revisit if that investment were made.
