La Tinaja - Ríohacha

La Tinaja by the sea looks like a real modern restaurant, but it's just ok. The neighbor is much better, but we tried it! The food is not bad it is just that, given the choice, I would go for the other. Potions are good, but the food is not interesting

We came to this restaurant because some others were too busy, but were satisfied with the food and excellent service. Varied menu including local and international dishes. I would go back if in Riohacha, Colombia

We arrived at Riohacha at 2:00 to find a place to eat. The beaches were crazy on Saturday during Easter. We went down the walkway and the host outside showed us a menu and we said why not try this place. There were only two other tables when we came in. When we left the place, he was full. We all had something different and everything was great. I thought I'd try to eat some appetizers instead of ordering a meal. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and a shrimp cocktail. I've never seen so much shrimp! Between the tow apps, it must have been at least 2 pounds of shrimp!!! I kept eating and didn't want to waste anything, but in the end I could finish both appetizers. Very good food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you eat here in Riohacha, we all loved our food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, excellent service!!! Very attentive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had both lobsters and I were very small and harder than normal for warm water lobsters. I will say that the service of our waiter (Luis) was excellent. The restaurant was clean and nicely furnished and a pleasant place to dine.

Strongly recommended by the latest Footprint Guide to Colombia we were disappointed. Perhaps it was because it was a Sunday night and we were the only diners but we felt we were the ones being done the favour. While the fish soup was ok, the mushroom soup appeared more familiar with a can opener. The seafood rice would have been excellent if it hadn't been smothered in melted cheese but the mixed grill of meats was shocking inedible goat and other meats that appeared to have been cooked earlier and then vaguely reheated. We had scarcely finished one course before the next was thrust upon us. A shame overall.
