Matsuyama Japanese Restaurant

Excellent from food , service, staff and price. I would not go to any Japanese restaurant other thN this one. This is a must to go to!

The staff was awesome! We were a group of at least 40 and they served us with a smile and tons of patience. The food was delicious, fresh and the prices made our meal a steal! We will return!

Drop in for dinner with my aunt and uncle from L.A , there hotel only 5 mins walk from the hotel , they do not want any fancy expensive diner , just clos by , and I read very good reviews in TripAdvisor , restaurants well know for their budget friendly , hot Plates and Bento Boxes , lot of parking in front of the restaurant and the dinning room very spacious , airy and clean , menu have so many choices , our Deluxe Sashimi disappointing to say , very average , FROZEN ! but good enough to eat , the Tiger Roll and the Teriyaki Beef Hot Plates delicious , come with rice and miso soup but my aunt's flavour dish is the grilled Salmon Head , and for me is the cuttlefish so yummy ! over all , all the hot dishes very tasty , but the Sashimi quality very average , service very friendly she come back to our tablets few times to check on our tea and food , make sure we all happy and full , great job , we all had a enjoyable family dinner together , Uncle told me the food is 100% better then U.K and not expensive , so if you around Lands Down area shopping , stop by and try their dinner , very affordable , open 4.30 pm .

I have lived in the lower mainland for 35 years, and have eaten at probably 75 sushi restaurants. Matsuyama Japanese Restaurant is second only to Miku. Enough said.

We thought on average Japnaese restaurants in Richmond must be good enough to compete in this city. We were wrong. We came here for dinner and expected a quality meal as we saw the restaurant was almost full. We ordered the bento box and tempura/chicken hot plate. Other than the tempura was somewhat acceptable, everything else was below expectations. The chicken was too salty and had little flavours. The sashimi was totally off the target. It was not fresh and tasted like it was a couple of days old. Although the dishes were fairly priced the food quality must be improved. Service was not the best. The male server was not friendly at all. He just quickly took our order. He did not want to say anything or smile. When he used a sprayer to clean the table next to us, he over-sprayed beyond the table surface and wetted my wife's legs. She jumped and starred at him. He just turned away and ignored us. There were some better reviews from others. However, the quality is certainly inconsistent and the service must be improved.
