Will have to say that the service was on point as was the soft bread the long line of local patrons waiting for the freshness that ensued and light cheese spread. While most the stews had an overload of potatoes, we throughly enjoyed the hue of tastes we encountered. The ox tails and octupus salad were good. However the highlight of our meal was the Crancas poseídas they served us. These were a pleasant bouquet of crustaceans that we will never forget.
We visited Riveria Grande closer to the end of the day, around 5pm. After walking around the town, we decided to look for a place for early dinner and found this small restaurant right next to the tourism office. The waiter was very nice and friendly. The menu on the wall had English translations and the prices are very reasonable. My husband had the regional BBQ chicken with fries and I had the traditional beef stew, both of which were really good. Their fresh bread is their specialty and we saw many locals dropping by during dinner time to pick some up among other takeout foods. There was a soccer game on and many men came to watch and hang out at the bar area, it was cool to be part of the local scene.
A small restaurant/bar which has nice outdoor seating on the church square. No frills home cooking, but tasty and fresh. Service was prompt and friendly. Perfect for a sunny day when you can sit outside.
This tiny, simple restaurant does not look glamourous from the outside, but you will be surprised on the delicious meals they serve. Menu is on the blackboards on the wall, lots of fish and meat (we ate just fish): Very friendly staff, it was my birthday and when they found out, they all came out (entire staff, cook, grandma and son) to wish me a happy birthday and hugs!! We came here twice and had different dishes (baked octopus, fish soup (served with star noodles!) and grilled fish (not sure what they were, but they were the catch of the day and very very fresh): Everything was wonderful, thank you for the memorable meals! We will come back on our next trip!
