Lake Anne Coffee House Wine - Reston

Our experience at Local VA was absolutely dreadful. Despite there being only 2 other tables, we waited an entire hour for our food. Our appetizer never arrived, and after 45 minutes, only my daughter's meal came out while my husband and I were left waiting. No one bothered to refill our drinks or address our needs. The servers and bartenders were seen taking shots with other customers at the bar. No manager ever came out to address the situation. When my husband went to pay before receiving our food, as it still wasn't ready after an hour, the server snatched his card and was incredibly rude, offering no resolution. The portions were small and the food was nothing special despite their marketing claims. The service was abysmal, the staff unprofessional, and the overall experience was disappointing. We will never return to this restaurant. Never again.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the service is exceptional. Being from North Carolina, it's hard to come by authentic southern cuisine but this place nails it, along with other delicious dishes. Their cocktails and beer selection from popular breweries are also outstanding. I highly recommend giving them a try - you won't be let down!

Half of the service is great, half of it is terrible. When the owners core staff that's been there a long time is around, it's wonderful but if they're not around the service has been slow inattentive and at the worst when I got food in these less popular hours, there little gravy one time almost no meat the other time. I asked for more as far as I could tell nothing changed. I left without eating it because I really needed protein they just argued with me about it being the normal amount and I didn't come back for a year after this happened a few times in a row. Other guests also have been really snide. It's not a place to relax unless it's in their peak hours then there's too many people to be able to relax. Truly unfortunate since it's the cutest spot on the water the only coffee shop in a 20 minute radius that isn't a massive chain with enough seats for everyone. Giving 2 stars since there are occasional times where service food is good plus the location is great, but the lack of consistency is rough.

I have been to this place many times, across several seasons. The cozy inside seating gives you a friend at every turn. The outside patio, waterside, is dog friendly and the perfect place for brunch. The staff is friendly, the food is even better. I haven’t had a meal I didn’t love. I dream about the duck fat fries but the ever changing and delicious options keep things interesting. Best bartender in the area, hands down. This place is like sitting down to have dinner with your family. If you are looking to rush out the door I would suggest picking up Chick-fil-A instead. Today I had gumbo with andouille sausage, okra, green peppers, and jalapeños over coconut rice. This savory and filling, delicious dish can not be rushed. I washed it down with one of the six beers on tap but had a sour for dessert. Best small business in this area.

I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at this restaurant. My wife and I had high hopes for this local establishment based on recommendations, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The service was lacking with only one bartender/waiter who seemed uninterested and unfriendly. The menu was limited, with only one entree available on a weekend. The food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive. The drink selection was mostly geared towards beer drinkers, with only a few wine options available by the glass at a high price. We were even charged for a bun for our toddler, which seemed unnecessary. Overall, we found this restaurant to be lacking in many areas and would not recommend it.
