This is by far the most mediocre Thai food in Reston. Big Bowl does not offer most traditional Thai dishes, and what we ordered (Pad Thai, Curry was extremely greasy and tasted very bland. The service was just OK. The host was brusk, the waitress had a poor ability to explain what was on the menu, and only returned to our table to ask if we wanted dessert and for the check. When we left, there was no smile, no “hope you had a good time” by any of the staff. Clientele was mostly much younger people... think of Big Bowl as a college Chipotle but for Thai (and Chinese? food. Dessert was OK but overpriced for the portion. Not really sure if I’d go again. On the plus side, the restaurant had a good ambience. But again, the food was so mediocre that I could only imagine taking my high-school date there if I was still in high school. Pro — kid friendly. Teen friendly. Wine menu.
This restaurant has always been one of my favorites. The food remains as fresh and delicious as it was years ago. The service is excellent, even when the restaurant is busy. One of us often visits with a group.
Big Bowl is an excellent Chinese/Thai restaurant that offers fresh, oriental vegetables and skilled chefs who prepare meals just the way you want them. There is a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options available. It's especially appealing to Indian tastes, as the food can be prepared beautifully and with the right level of spiciness. The customer service is outstanding as well. They made my birthday memorable by presenting me with a wonderful cake and a candle.
This restaurant offers a modern twist on classic American Chinese and Thai dishes. While many of the flavors are adjusted to suit popular tastes, the food remains enjoyable. There's a unique feature where you can build your own dish at the bar, which, although I didn’t try it myself, is sure to entertain first-time visitors. Be sure to come with an appetite, as the "Big Bowl" truly lives up to its name. Don't miss out on the homemade ginger ale—it’s a must-try!
