The State Redlands

We planned to arrive for brunch but got delayed and showed up just after 3pm. So because I'd planned on getting a brunch item, I walked in not knowing what I wanted to order, but after looking at the specials menu I immediately decided on the Oktoberfest shash burger. We ordered some cocktails and appetizers (all of which were pretty great), but when it came time to order our mains I was told they were out of the specific thing I wanted. I quickly picked the meatball sandwich as an alternative. It turned out to be pretty good, but it was still disappointing not to get what I'd hoped for. The deep fried oysters were okay, but I felt like the flavor of the oyster was overshadowed by too much Sriracha mayo. The brussels sprouts were much better. One other disappointment was when my friend ordered a beer off the draught menu he waited about 10 minutes before the server said she'd check in it. When she came back 5 minutes later he was told that they were out of that beer. 15 minutes seems like a long wait to be told you can't get what you ordered. That was two times they didn't have something we wanted, but at least with the Oktoberfest burger I was told immediately.

This was my first time here, recommended by my hygienist. Tasty food! I had all three tacos on the “taco Tuesday” menu, and they were very good. Small street tacos, but flavorful. My husband had the double smash burger and enjoyed every bite. The $6 margarita was small but mighty! Also, tasty We sat by the large open widow in front and enjoyed ourselves. Food: 5

Great atmosphere and the service was spot on. The food was good, but lacking considering the price. You would think with the items being served that they would have been 5 stars, but the wagyu burger was flavorless and the onion rings were heavily over salted. The fried brussel sprouts were tough, but had great flavor. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3
