Flames - Randolph

I often find my favorite treats at Flames Restaurant. Their Gizzadas are delicious, though they aren't always available. My niece really enjoys Rock biscuits, and this is my go-to spot to buy them. The food is generally very tasty, but I have noticed that the Curried Goat can sometimes have more bones than I prefer. It's also worth mentioning that Flames doesn't serve any pork dishes for those who enjoy pork. The oxtail is usually quite tender, and the rice and peas are fresh. I typically avoid the fish, as it tends to be a bit dry. One of my all-time favorites, the soup, is frustratingly never ready at lunchtime, which I find baffling. If you're hoping to catch it, it's best to go around 2 p.m. when it's more likely to be available. Depending on the day, you might find options like Cow Foot or Chicken. As for vegetarian choices, they do have a range, including cabbage, mixed vegetables, various rice options like yellow rice, and veggie patties. I also love their variety of porridges, and there's a special dish offered each day. Prices are fairly average compared to other Jamaican restaurants from Boston to Brockton. Plus, Flames is open on Sundays and has multiple locations, so you're likely to find one near you.

The food had been reheated multiple times and was completely dried out.

I have been visiting this restaurant once a week for a year, and I must say the service is consistently the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s slow, disorganized, and they frequently get orders wrong. Just this Saturday, I waited 15 minutes while there were three people ahead of me, and when it was finally my turn, my order was messed up yet again. I then had to wait an additional 10 minutes at the checkout. I really can’t understand how a place that is so poorly managed is still in business!

Flames Jamaican Restaurant is a fantastic addition to Randolph's expanding dining scene. Everything I've tried so far has been incredibly delicious. Just keep in mind that it can get quite busy, so you might want to allow a little extra time; it's definitely worth the wait!

I absolutely love the oxtails, stewed steak, and stewed chicken! Randolph Flames offers excellent service, and they don't run out of food as quickly as some other locations. I sometimes get a bit impatient with the lines and the time it takes to process orders, but it's definitely worth a visit.
