Poole'side Pies - Raleigh

This was my first visit to this restaurant and Sam made it a truly delightful experience. The food was delicious, but her exceptional service, including remembering my name, stood out. I will definitely come back when I am in downtown Raleigh again.

My wife and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks. Our server was friendly and made good recommendations. After we finished eating and paying, my wife and I had a disagreement without raising our voices or using profanity. We weren't causing a scene or bothering anyone nearby. Another server approached us and asked us to continue our disagreement outside, as the manager overheard and wanted us to leave. Despite us not disturbing anyone, we were asked to leave without being given the chance to resolve our issue. I found it unprofessional to be asked to leave when we were not being disruptive. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future, as apparently having a disagreement at a table is grounds for removal.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! I have visited multiple times and the staff always goes above and beyond. The food continues to surprise and impress me every time, especially the fried Mac bites which are my favorite. We were unsure about trying the Duke pizza, but ended up ordering other dishes to try. The manager surprised us by sending out a Duke pizza for us to try and we ended up loving it! It was unexpected and delicious, showcasing the chefs' ability to transform ingredients like mayo, horseradish, and heirloom tomatoes into a fantastic pizza. Additionally, there are validated parking spots available across the street.

This place is so consistently great, we love it. The food is delicious and creative, the bar is on point, and a huge shoutout to some of the best restaurant folks around, including Sam and Chef John. The service, food, and drinks keep us coming back over and over again.

Great atmosphere. Fantastic customer service. Great tasting pizza. Reasonable prices.
