Fish Village - Queens

Great spot for fresh seafood straight from the tank, but the prices are quite steep.

Overpriced seafood. Do not get spiny lobster fried rice. That was a huge mistake.Basically this place is you pick live seafood from fish tanks and tell them how you want it cooked. They seem to only speak Mandarin there. We dined in and the lazy Susan was slightly broken so it would be very heavy when we spun it. Food portions are huge and it's meant to be shared/family style. Service was good. Food was okay but not worth the price meaning I could get same stuff elsewhere for cheaper.

However, there is one downside: they charge a 30% fee for cooking fresh seafood, which I believe is quite high. I could easily go to other restaurants that charge a similar price per pound without any cooking fees. On a positive note, they offer validated parking and have a private lot, which is a rarity in Flushing, let alone Queens.

The food is pretty good but be warned that you will be left waiting a LONG time if you're there on a busy night. Also, don't go in expecting the greatest service or even decent service. It's not a bug it's a feature when it comes to these types of restaurants. All their seafood dishes are fresh. You can literally see the tanks of live seafood next to your table. The House Special Fried Rice was not special...it was chewy, dry, and bland. Definitely recommend sticking to seafood and noodles. You can complimentary orange slices and tapioca porridge at the end of your meal.
