The service is good and the food is excellent. The trout is especially good, fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed the food so much that we came back for a second meal when we went through Puno again two days later. You have good low-fat and vegetarian options. Service is friendly, even if you don't speak much Spanish.
Mojsa looks and feels like your favorite cozy bistro or neighborhood restaurant. It is unintentionally casual, served excellent food at reasonable prices and has extremely friendly and efficient staff. Our guide, who came from Cuzco but traveled throughout Peru, recommended it as a place in Puno with typical Peruvian farewell at a consistently high quality level. Puno seems to offer a tradition of pizzerias and restaurants way, much too many menu items, but Mojsa menu is limited, which makes it even more attractive. We arrived at 19:15 and arrived with minimal waiting time for our meal. I chose the grilled Alpaka Steak with pure Quinoa and Chimichurri sauce, and it was perfect. The five strips of this lean but juicy meat were slightly marinated and grilled medium rare, which made the fineness of the beef flavor shine. My wife had the trout with passion fruit sauce that came with parsley potatoes and grilled vegetables. It was also perfectly moist and tasteful. She noticed how Peruvian trout look and tastes like Alaskan salmon while I thought the alpaca tasted like a grass-fed calf. I wish American restaurants also made half with potatoes and Quinoa side dishes! Most food options here are variations in the preparation of meat, including alpaca, beef and guinea pigs, but there are grilled and baked ‘trout’, ceviche and shrimp dishes. It's simple, but delicious food. We shared a Coca creme brûlée – believe me to be ashamed of the Peruans when it comes to chocolate desserts – and with two beers for dinner our tab came to about $32 USD. We gave our server a great tip that she deserved. A really nice, relaxing meal for us.
This was a last minute recommendation and it was worth it. Great food, clean space and great service. The cocktails are delicious.
Delicious local cuisine, wide selection of local drinks, attentive service best restaurant in the city. when you arrive in high season or at the main time, it is better to book in advance.
Came here for my last meal in Peru based on the reviews. I ended up with a reservation for one of the tables at the balcony with an AMAZING view. However, I was set at 6:17 and ordered a Coke Zero for drink. It has...been 23 minutes and my drink just showed up. The salad made it out just a few limited later and was big serving and very good! I had requested Ranch or Italian dressing but neither was on it. Tasted like something was on it but barely if anything. It was still good!! I don’t know what kind of cheese it was, but it was fantastic!! I finished with the alpaca! It was great! Cooked just right. There was a green something on it that I just scrapped off. Prices were high for Puno(location, location, location) but were less that comparable places in Lima, Cusco, etc. Reserve the balcony and have a good night!
