Joao Do Cabeco - Porto Santo

After an unplanned detour from Madeira, this little place redeemed our first day of holiday. Lunch snacks very reasonable. Evening meal fantastic and exceptional value. And staff couldn’t of been nicer. Cannot recommend enough

We went there last Saturday night. The place was full. We ordered two medium rare steaks. They came out with a very small portion of fries, egg on top of the steak and salad. The steaks were rare so they went back to be cooked more. The food/steak seemed just OK, at the time, but at 7am the next morning I had symptoms of some type of food poisoning (S&D) My partner had the same, later that day.... We had not had food anywhere else that day....

If you go to Porto Santo please do not go to this restaurant. I booked a table for two and when I got there I was told that the reservation did not exist. Porto Santo operates on the basis of lobbying and this restaurant is an example of this.

Desde o delicioso bolo de chocolate até ao emblemático bolo do caco, este restaurante é um autêntico tesouro nacional na Ilha do Porto Santo. O serviço pacato apenas atribui mais caráter ao restaurante, refletindo a sua verdadeira essência tal como o resto da ilha: modesto, irresistível sem motivo aparente, calmo. Obrigada.

Je zou de moeite hebben gedaan om het restaurant mooi te versieren voor Kerstmis en de baas zou liever de Kerstman spelen dan in de keuken zitten en het verknoeien. Maar dat is allemaal atmosfeer en je krijgt het hier. Trouwens, je moet je bewust zijn van de boetes van Portugese keuken om het te weten. Wat je echt moet eten.
