This was the best meal of our trip hands down! It was the closest to a Michelin star meal as you can get with out the Michelin prices. Everything was flawless food, service, ambience, location. <br/ <br/ We had the goats cheese filled tortellini starter, the cod with corn bread, octopus and monkfish all phenomenal. The prices are also really reasonable and you'd likely pay more at a tourist trap. <br/ <br/ Any friends and family who plan to visit Porto, will be told this is a MUST DO!
We stopped by one day at Camafeu but couldn't get in, so made a reservation for another day. We were the first ones there at 7:30 on a Tuesday, but the place filled up. The atmosphere is so pleasant; we had a window table with a view of the square, and the room was candle lit, with warm wood floors and old paintings. We shared everything; couvert (hot bread rolls, olives, butter flavored with oregano and salt and another butter with arugula), scallop tapas on pear purée with a small salad of mixed greens and walnuts, and a rather spectacular shrimp dish which was sort of a stew on a bread bowl. An inexpensive, good local bottle of vinho verde, and for dessert the sampler; 6 different desserts in small sizes on a stone plank. Mango, corn cake, lemon meringue, chocolate mousse, chocolate brownie. And a glass of port. What fun!
Best restaurant experience in Porto, both the food and service is extraordinary! A must visit if you’re looking for genuine Italian food in Porto
The food was excellent and the service was even better. Fresh ingredients and tasty! One of the best meals I had in Porto!
We had the most delicious meal at Piccolo Camafeu. Everything from the hospitality to the incredibly tasty food to the delicious dessert was perfect. Thank you for an amazing evening and dinner.
