A Cozinha Do Manel - Porto

A local exclent Portuguse cuisine with a touch of porto. The veal and the aleira we're amazing and everything else including the unique decoration in the restaurant. Promise to come back next time in Porto

Fantastic. Found it two doors down from our hotel. Was just looking for a reasonable place to eat and stumbled on one of the best restaurants in Porto. Superb dishes, friendly service, cosy ambience.

This restaurant has some very positive reviews which are on probably well deserved from the point of view of the writers. Positives: Super nice staff and good ambience. We were surprised at the limited menu. There were three of us. One of us had the veal, one of us had the pork belly and one had the filet of fish. The veal and spinach was good but the pork belly was dry and relativly tasteless, buried in a mountain of deep fried potatoes . The one fish dish on the menu was a filet of whitefish which was the worst fish we have had in Portugal. We have had amazing fish at other restaurants in Portugal at all price ranges, infinitely better that what one typically gets in North America. The fish here reminded us a good quality breaded fish from a freezer chest (Costco? hundreds of miles from the ocean. We do not like bacalhau, but it might be a good choice for those who do as it was highly recommended by the simpatico staff. This meal was our most expensive and worst meal during a week in Portugal. Staff is super nice but judging from the response to a previous bad review, management seems to be agressive and arrogant, definitely not simpatico.

Always very busy so you need to book! Traditional Portuguese food well cooked and nicely presented. Great service!

Simply the best place I've ever eaten in, hands down. London, Rome, Madrid, Paris and Berlin can stand aside as this quaint family restaurant serves up exquisite local cuisine in hearty batches for a price where you'd think you're robbing them. The balance of flavors, portion size and authenticity is literally perfect. The menu sticks to ~10 expertly done dishes that will not leave you disappointed. I cannot critique this place in any way. Food: 11/10 Service: 10/10 Menu Variety: 10/10 Decor/Ambience: 10/10
