Ruski's Tavern - Portland

Despite Ruski being slang for Russian this place is as American as it gets. needed to add more words to beaccepted as a comment.

I just enjoyed a wonderful dinner: schnitzel with egg noodles and quite possibly the best braised red cabbage I've ever tasted. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were genuinely friendly.

This place is awesome! Good food, great music and a cool bartender. It was the first place we stopped in Portland after a long day of crazy hectic travel. The food was good! I had the lobster roll which was just pure lobster and a nice toasty piece of bread. Came with a side of coleslaw, which was the best coleslaw i've ever had (and i don't event like coleslaw). The bartender gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat which made our trip even better. I wish i could transplant this bar to San Diego, but it would probably lose some of what makes it special. Would definitely go here all the time if I lived in Portland.

Awesome little place that is very popular with the locals. If you blink you might miss it but worth looking for. Very friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfast food. Good value! Don't let this one pass you by!

Ruski's Tavern has the best food of any tavern pub on the Portland peninsula. Breakfast especially on the weekends is a must.
