The Carolina Tavern - Port Royal

The BBQ chicken was okay. Too much BBQ sauce was too sweet on the nacho. It took away the real taste of BBQ chicken.

Atmosphere was great, the staff are pleasant and have a great sense of humor. Food was good.

When traveling to new places we like to find the unique mom and pop type places. This place had the best food and the service was great as well. It was a tad tricky to find and I'm so glad we didn't give up and found it. It's blended in with some office buildings and the entrance is in the back, not facing the street. It is worth finding though. The food was soooo good.

Saturday dinner with my husband. We waited to be seated, no problem. Our waitress was not the friendliest, but she wasn't rude either. We ordered some drinks at a booth, due to the bar being completely full. The drinks were watered down. We ordered 2 cocktails a piece. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp and Buffalo chicken dip, they were okay. We ordered the Cajun honey, lemon pepper, and Cajun wings. They were extremely salty. We tried to brush the dry rub off and use ranch, but the Cajun honey could not be helped. Out of 30 wings we tried to eat maybe 7.

Absolutely obsessed with the nachos! The staff is amazing, had the same waitress both times we have been there and wish I knew her name. Will be back again next time we are in the area to visit.
