Pappy's Stowaway Cafe - Ponchatoula

Not very impressed with their roast beef poboy, the meat was cold and shredded from a dried-out piece of meat and the gravy tasted like it came out of a can. Had a big piece of meat in mine that was as hard as a rock.

Food is good at a fair price the wife and I shared the 12 piece chicken tender took 1/2 home they were so big will share the 6 next time. Thanks

This café is located within a diner. It is very charming, however, when I arrived they were out of milk so I was unable to try their coffee.

I had high hopes as I walked into the restaurant and placed my order, but unfortunately, I had to wait nearly an hour for my food. The wait was so long that I could have gone to Rouses, bought the ingredients, gone home, and cooked the meal myself in the same amount of time. When we finally received something, it was just one plate and we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for everyone else's food to be ready. When we were finally able to eat, the oysters were overcooked and overly breaded, and the shrimp was also overbreaded. I couldn't believe I paid $77 for this meal.

So I came to this place Friday the 13th, while going out to Hammond for a few things I cannot get from New Orleans. I seen this place on Instagram from a Youtuber I watch named The Cajun Ninja. I figure to give it a shot while I was out here in Ponchatoula, and I must say, I was not dissapointed in the least bit. I ordered the seafood platter with roasted loaded potatoes for my lunch, and the debris fries and Roast Neef Poboys for dinner that I took home for dinner and leftovers.y God was the flavor there. It was full of different nuanced that just filled my taste buds with satififaction.The debris fries and Roast Beef Poboy was one of the best I have had in Louisiana. The customer service was amazing and it did not take long for my food to come out. They even Halsted making my Poboy ND fries until I left, and it was ready when I left. My only complaint about the place is that it is not closer to me. I will definitely be back when I make my way out there again. And I would recommend this place to anyone. Well done.
