Costa Sur Cuban Cafe - Pompano Beach

This was the best cortadito we had during our entire trip to Florida! We wanted to go back for more, but unfortunately, we couldn't. Food: 5/5.

The food was decent, but like many Cuban restaurants, the service left much to be desired. The waitstaff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to the guests. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

First and foremost, the food at Costa Sur Cuban Cafe was exceptional. Each dish was crafted with care, showcasing high-quality ingredients. What stood out to me was how hot and fresh everything was. Every item I tried, from the Cuban sandwich to the papas casa, was served piping hot, which significantly enhanced the overall dining experience. When it comes to portion sizes, Costa Sur Cuban Cafe really knows how to satisfy appetites. The portions were incredibly generous, ensuring that no one leaves feeling anything less than completely full. I was thrilled that the food not only tasted amazing but was also served in plentiful amounts. Now, let’s highlight the star of the meal—the Cuban sandwich. It was simply delicious, layered with flavors and grilled to perfection for that delightful crunch. The combination of tender roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard created a harmonious blend of tastes that left me wanting more. It was a true tribute to the traditional Cuban sandwich. To complement my meal, I ordered a cup of cafe con leche—a Cuban classic. It was absolutely perfect! The coffee was rich and robust, expertly blended with creamy milk to achieve a smooth, velvety texture. The flavor balance was spot on, making it a delightful pick-me-up during my visit to Costa Sur Cuban Cafe. Lastly, I must give a shoutout to the papas casa (house potatoes) for their incredible flavor. They were seasoned beautifully with just the right amount of herbs and spices, offering a satisfying burst of taste with every bite. The crispy exterior and fluffy interior created a wonderful contrast, making them an absolute treat for the taste buds.
