Friary Mill - Plymouth

I had a great experience at this bakery. The staff was friendly, the selection of baked goods was very good, and the prices were reasonable. The service was also excellent. I will definitely be returning in the future.

The bakery offers a wide variety of cakes, sandwiches, pasties, and pastries. We tried a selection of pasties and cakes, all of which were delicious! The staff was friendly and patient as we decided on our order. We would definitely visit again.

I purchased a steak pasty from this restaurant, but unfortunately, there was no steak in it. I enjoyed the pastry, but it was essentially a peppered potato pasty, which was not very satisfying. The service was friendly and the overall experience was positive. However, when it comes to judging a pasty, most people consider the meat content, pastry quality, and flavor. As Plymouth and Cornwall are known for their pasties, it would be great if the pasty had more beef in it to truly honor this traditional dish. I would greatly appreciate it. P.S. There were small crumbs of what I believe was beef, but it seemed like only a small amount was included, as if it were added by accident in a non-beef pasty.

It’s nice that you can buy a pastie or sandwich from the bakery, or if you fancy sitting down and grabbing a coffee then you can do the same next door. Enormous choice and a nice balance between quality of produce and keeping the price low.

Pop in here about once a month with my daughter for coffee . Lovely little coffee shop, friendly staff and they also do a lovely fry up. Definitely worth popping in.
