Chicken Marys - Pittsburg

Always a great place for lunch or dinner. We were very happy to meet after the church and not have to wait to sit. Our server was fast to get all our drinks and orders. The onion rings are good, but more like straw bites still very food. I have the chicken strips with German Slav and German potato salad. These strips were so good, the bread was light and so much taste. Slav was also excellent.

I've been eager to visit this place ever since we moved from California to Kansas. I love the rivalry background, whether it's genuine or not. The fried chicken was absolutely incredible. The breading was crispy, and the meat was flavorful—definitely no dry chicken here, even though I only ordered white meat. When we first sat down, the waitress brought us complimentary bread and butter, which really delighted my 5-year-old. The service was attentive, the food arrived hot, and the prices were very reasonable. I was also pleasantly surprised to find German potato salad on the menu, a family favorite of ours. While it was a bit tangy and didn’t contain large chunks of bacon like we typically make, it was still delicious. We’ll definitely be back next time!

This is the chicken that SE Kansas is renowned for—crispy, hot, and bursting with flavor! The portions are generous, making it a great value for your money. Although the spaghetti might not be true to an Italian restaurant's standards, it's still decent. The German potato salad has the perfect vinegar kick, and the bread is fresh. Additionally, the service was excellent, and the food arrived quickly. Overall, the drive a few miles off the highway is definitely worthwhile.

When you dine here, the first thing you have to order is the onion rings. They are heavenly; they were pulled straight from the fryer and onto our table. Absolutely delicious! The chicken was incredibly good too, and I had some leftovers to take to my uncle. We even decided to order another batch of onion rings to go. As soon as we arrived at my uncle's house, he couldn't get enough of the onion rings. He quickly tossed a handful into his air fryer and devoured them almost immediately before welcoming us into his home.
