They need a car and a good gps to find this place, but at the end their search is rewarded by the high quality of food! it was one of my best dinners. a triumph for the taste and for the eyes. I recommend the fish dishes and if they are in doubt, they simply ask the waiters for good suggestions. the service is excellent and elegant.
Average. I had in the usa superior meal times. quite small appetizers, all prefabricated. rindfleisch filet far understandard to US-Rind. my biggest complaint is one that I had with some other Sicilian restaurants, although I speak Italian, the waiter, provided they are a tourist, not disturbing to tell them the piatti del giorno. I asked about nicely different than the one on the menu, the answer was no, although I saw other nice on other diners plates. for the chef and the owner, they do not accept that because we are tourists that we are not demanding about their eating. I have other favorites in Sicily and will not return here, even though I live in italy.
After reading reviews here, we decided to spend a night in piraino and try this restaurant. that found the place was not easy. added, we have been around 4 hours on the road and our gps were often confused on the mountain roads in this... area. we booked the table at 21:30, but we did it there at 21:50. if they are not used to drive on such steep winding roads, this journey is tireless. but as soon as we set ourselves, basilio made sure we feel comfortable. he explained their specificities, which are exactly what others have mentioned. we started with sorted antipasti for 4, which consisted of about 6 different directed. it followed a half filet of pork, which was crumbling in and other crumbling, to share together with a slowly boiled pork. each of the courts was nothing but amazing. we had a carafe house wine and a bottle zisola red wine, which is recommended to go with this meal. I would also like to thank basilio here, who took the time to explain in detail how to reach our hotel (which was also quite difficult to reach. he must have spent a good 20 minutes explaining the road and also drawing a map for me.
