The BEST restaurant in Pietermaritzburg. Upmarket. Chef owner operated ensuring maximum, clean and balanced flavours. Italian menu with fantastic grills, pizzas, pasta, seafood and sides. Great to celebrate special occasions.

Always enjoy the food there. I love that there is a complementary focaccia if eating. I have the calamari that’s super tasty and the pasta there is also amazing. Friendly staff and unique chef specials. My parents go there all the time and I would definitely recommend.

My husband and I frequent La Vita e very regularly and highly recommend them! The food is exceptional! I really enjoy trying out the ever changing flavour combinations and the wine paring. It is so clear that a lot of time and thought is put into every dish. The service is outstanding. My favourite restaurant in PMB!

The food is very well prepared. It does take a little while so be ready to unwind. They have a very good selection of wine. The taste of the padella sauce is sublime. The food overall gets my taste buds wagging. The restaurant loses one star only because of location. Prefer to look at mountains or trees in Pietermaritzburg instead of a car park but that cannot be helped.
