Mangiamo 444 - Northern Liberties

We had a reservation for a table of 6 for 8:30 pm (the restaurant closes at 9). When we arrived, the waitress rushed us to order, rushed to take our food away, then automatically added a 25% GRATUITY TO OUR BILL. She was extremely rude and I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant. Food was ok though, so I guess they have that going for them. I will not be returning to this establishment

Very quiet restaurant, actually it was empty on a Saturday night. I forgot it was a BYO restaurant, but they were nice enough to provide a complimentary drink. Great, friendly service and very nice, clean environment. It has the look I like for an Italian restaurant: low lighting, Italian scenery, etc. The food was just OK, which was disappointing because I love Italian food and the place definitely has an authentic Italian feel. But the food was nothing special. Probably the biggest drawback overall was the parking situation. I didn't realize when I made the reservation that the restaurant is attached to a residential building, and the parking lot is for residents only. There are no pay lots nearby so we had to park on Spring Garden and walk a few blocks. I think there might be street parking normally but there is currently construction so that was not an option. Not that big a deal but the weather was cold and rainy. Overall it was fine but there are definitely better options for Italian.

The food was mediocre, the waitress was not good and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. If I had used the restroom before ordering my food, I would have left. I have never been to a restaurant or bar that had such dirty bathrooms. I would not recommend this place to anyone or ever go back.

Great food! Would eat there again! Portions were perfect size and felt like I was in someone's home eating their best dish for dinner. yummy!

To be at the border of the old town and the northern freedoms, is amazing that we are in an oasis in what is not too high, but with great closeness to all the pleasantities of being in the city. it is easy to drive to north to nolibs and fishtown, and it is also just a few minutes walk from old city, society hill, jump arts and center city (and more). we loved living here in the last three years. we bought our pre-COVID site after we looked all over the place in the city. from where we were before, we felt as if the prices were quite a deal (in retrospect we would have tried to negotiate something). the HOA fees are more than fair for a building with concierge and gym. the only complaint I have is that people with outside space do not pay any higher HOA fee. in most other buildings they would. the personal when we came in was great, and although there was a turnover (before the writing), the staff is currently fabulous and I hope they never leave. this is one of the quieter large buildings in which we have also lived what a bonus is. from home it was nice not to distract too many sound. we love living here. most neighbours are friendly. it is incredibly pet-friendly and it has now also opened a solid caffe on-location (be well spring). we look forward to our future time here!
