Sushigawa - Peoria

Haven’t been at Sushigawa for a few years and we decided to go back today to celebrate a good occasion. Memories about the place were good, but OMG — it degraded so much… Prices were ridiculous for the quality of the food as it simply tasted awful! None of the several ordered special maki rolls was eatable, deep fried lobster was mainly dough, tables were sticky, plates — not very clean, service was OK, although certainly could have been better. We ordered a couple specialty rolls and thought they were very good! Not many sushi options in the area as expected in Central IL. We had tried all the local ones before coming here and this is now our favorite sushi place. I've had some pretty incredible sushi near ocean cities and you're not going to find that here but still very tasty. We thought the staff was super friendly! I love the crystal sparkly sign on the wall.:

Best Sushi in Peoria for sure! Not only is the staff friendly but the food is top-notch. You won't be disappointed (unless you're expecting a 5-star New York City Sushi restaurant). Can't wait to go again.

Eating here is always pleasant. We make the drive from Springfield to Peoria to eat here. The best place to eat in central Illinois.
