Oh wow! What an absolute gem of a place that’s so easy to overlook. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see something like Long John Silver or even a group of smugglers enjoying a tankard of ale here—the atmosphere is fantastic! Even more impressive was the food, which was absolutely delicious. The house-made cornbread was out of this world, and the corn cream tea paired with homemade scones was to die for! I believe the owner’s name is Holly, and she is wonderful. There was a little jam on the floor, but considering the place is 640 years old, a little mess is hardly a big deal. People really need to visit and treat themselves to a bite or a drink!
This charming little restaurant is perfectly located right by the main road. They offer exceptional cream teas, which were the best we encountered during our visit. The setting is lovely, and the venue has a fascinating history. The staff was also very welcoming and friendly!
