Il Grano E L'uva - PECCIOLI

Francesco was knowledgeable and very generous with his time. He taught us about wine and a delishious pistachio pesto from his home in Sicily. Highly recommend!

On our way back to hotel after a long busy day in Firenze, we stopped w/ some friends II Grano E L’Uva b/c of prior trip advisor reviews ARE SO Glad we did! Francisco the owner) did his magic put together 5 wooden cutting boards with samples from his deli/ shop of ALL these different breads, pestos, olives, salami’s, stuffed tomatoes, olive oils, cheeses spreads! It was absolutely DELICIOUS ! We Highly recommend really enjoyed the local wine he recommended as well! Le Palaie: Gatta Ci Cova photo attached! We also enjoyed picking out some breakfast biscotti, apricot torte, al cioccolato, torta al limone all for tomorrow’s breakfast!

This small café in the heart of Peccioli has great pasta, pastries and a good selection of locally produced wines. We chose to have for lunch the tortellini with ragu and enjoyed it immensely! Alessandra was our server gracious, friendly and unassuming. We were too full for dessert but I bought some almond cookies to take home and they were delicious. We will definitely make a return visit!

We found this lovely shop some January afternoon in 2016, and Francesco was enthusiasticly telling us about the products and made us taste some more stuff, based on what we were interested in. We came back two days later, met some Italian neighbors in the door, who had been there to eat something, and Francesco's Mamma already knew who we were, when we looked at an espresso maker made of chocolate... apparently he had talked about us (it was low season and there were few Danish tourists, but still! . If we had bought even more than we did, we would have needed another suitcase!
