Hoof's Restaurant Bar - Pawcatuck

We enjoyed NYE at Hoof's! The food, drinks and service were impeccable. Only constructive criticism is the a/c was blowing on our shoulders and the table space was a little tight. Still give this restaurant 4.5 stars!!!

Second time I've visited first time I loved the food and service. On this occasion, I made an reservation four days ahead of time mentioned in the note that it was a date and we'd like a quiet table. Arrived on time and were directed to a bar table right behind the maitre d's station. If I'd known the only option was to be squeezed into a noisy high top beside a line of traffic, I would have gone someplace else.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. After an initial mix-up/miscommunication with our large group reservation, they went out of their way to make it right and were incredibly accommodating. Comforting food at a reasonable price especially for the shoreline area. We always enjoy a night out that includes Hoof's!

Out of 6 in our party only 3 were satisfied. My sister and I ordered chicken Milanese which we had a few months ago and it was not the same. The chicken was not thin and crispy as before. It was we think coated with sauce and stewed tomatoes. The arugula salad was wilted with too much dressing. My other sister was disappointed because the kitchen ran out of the pasta that the menu stated and was substituted with a thinner pasta and it was under too much sauce. We've been yo your restaurant a number of times and it felt like the chef was different. We might try it again? And might recommend it to friends? The service was great!

A solid restaurant. Great meatballs, and cocktails. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Having said that, I was very disappointed with the Veal Piccata. The worst I've every had. It almost completely lacked the traditional lemon flavor, and there was very little sauce. I hate to ding the place over the veal, but it was that bad.
