Salahedin Middle East - Paterson

This is a decent Middle Eastern restaurant that has recently undergone a change in ownership and is now called Ward Restaurant. The staff is courteous and polite, making for a pleasant dining experience. While the food is average—neither spectacular nor disappointing—it satisfies a craving. For those in search of a quick and satisfying meal, I recommend trying their daily special; otherwise, you may have to wait for your food to be freshly prepared. The prices are quite reasonable as well. I ordered the Lamb Maqlooba, which came with potatoes and eggplants, along with two sides: salad and plain yogurt, plus a soda, all for just $14.95. Overall, I believe this is a good spot for a casual, quick meal.

This restaurant is incredibly elegant and feels as though it has been transported from a different location. It's quite surprising to find such a sophisticated establishment nestled in downtown Paterson. The menu features typical steakhouse offerings and the atmosphere is delightful. Stepping inside feels like entering a hidden underground world, reminiscent of a winery in Napa. The food is delicious, although it is on the pricier side.

The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, greeting guests with fresh hot cookies to try. My waiter was efficient and eager to make sure I was happy. Those cookies were delightful! They were round with a date filling and not overly sweet. I ordered the lentil soup and a small lamb shish kebob, which was served without the skewer and wrapped in pita bread along with some vegetables. Everything was delicious!

The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. They even offered me a taste of their harissa, which was fresh and authentic. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.
