Contribuiți la feedbackAt Il Covo, we had an amazing curated culinary experience. Authentic Italian cuisine, from the region of Calabria, in the middle of 11th arrondissement in Paris. The place has a warm feeling and the Epicerie style setting contributes to it. You can find spices, olive oils, pasta and other pantry goods from Calabria. The brothers, Antonio and Francesco, are doing a great job running the restaurant. We started with a selection of homemade charcuterie, which was delicious, the Nduja was the best I ever tried. We also had the house cured anchovies, which were very well prepared, along with the eggplant parmesan (grandma's recipe, and the octopus salad. For the second course we opted for an assortment of pasta dishes. We had tried Calabrian Fussili with assorted seafood, Orecchiete with razor clams and chickpeas, Spaghetti alla chitarra with basil pesto, and their Carbonara. Everything was well prepared, curated and matched with some incredible well crafted Calabrian wines, recommended by Francesco, the front of the house manager. We decided to skip dessert, but we sample a few grappa and other after dinner drinks. The pepperoncino infused grappa, it is a must try!
I 've been recenetly to Il Covo for a family dinner. Each one of us had a dish different from the other and we were tasting from each other plates :-D Osso bucco, Fish, Strunctura, pasta... Everything was super delicious!!! We 're definitely going back
Seriously, the best Italian food in Paris. The owner and all of the staff were quite attentive. The spritz menu is quite extensive. The carbonara is authentic, the real deal. A huge portion and amazing flavor.
We went here because of the good reviews fut found the food to be mediocre and quite expensive. On top of that the selection was poor. I think word has gotten out as the restaurant was empty when we were there. Won't be back.
I had a coupon for entree, plat and dessert and overall it was a great dinner! It is totally worth it. I like the entree so much, something with baby octopus and also their tiramisu! The place was a quite small but they have basement and it was great place for romantic dinner. The staffs were so nice and helpful. One of them explained the menu that they had to us since we did not understand french (but he explained to french guests too).
