Lon's At The Hermosa - Paradise Valley

We have dined at Lon's in the past and always had a great experience. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is excellent and normally the food and service is what you would expect at a top end restaurant. We took a friend to dinner for a milestone birthday last night. The hostess had a card waiting signed by the waitress staff which was a nice touch. However our waiter was not the best. He never checked on us during the meal and was absent for the majority of our visit. One of the items we ordered was inedible and had to be sent back. Two of us ordered the bison and it was somehow tough yet under cooked. The head waiter came over and explained they have a new chef. Perhaps they are working out the kinks. Overall, a disappointing experience and I don't think we will return.

Old Timey Restaurant living on its reputation of old. But, in spite of all the usual rankings, I had the best Divers (Ocean) Scallops that I have ever had in several countries I have lived in. The Chef but not the Management has the skill. The bathrooms were in need of attention, staff were in the condition that they had to revolt in the expectation of the past when they could be doing what is expected to retain the caliber of food, service expectations of the brand.
