Tequilas - Palmetto

What a nice surprise to find this place! My mom and I Googled “Mexican restaurant near me” and that showed up. The decor is funny and festive when you enter and play lively music. You have many stands to sit and big tables when you have a large group. Isabel was our server and was helpful for us first timer in the menu selection and even let me practice some of my Spanish I have learned. The salsa was fresh and had Cilantro I love. Silky white cheese dip and one side of Salsa verde (green based) around our chips in. We both had the Burrito lunch special, which came with rice and beans and guacamole, salad and tomatoes and sour cream. Great experience and will return soon.

This place is a hidden gem that I visit every few weeks. The staff is always friendly, the service is excellent, and the food is always fresh. I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. Highly recommend returning!

The food at this place is absolutely incredible, especially the California Burrito which is the best I've ever had. They also serve delicious margaritas and other drinks. I really wish they had a location in Sarasota.

We had carry out which was excellent! Fast service, no mistakes in filling the order, fresh moist pulled chicken, and very tasty (great Mole sauce). I tried the six enchiladas with three different sauces (huge portion enough for two) and my husband had a burrito. We are picky! Will definitely be back soon.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars if it wasn't located in a strip mall. The interior is beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and new tables and booths. They had a lively mariachi band that played a fun version of Happy Birthday for my special day. But the real star of the show was the food! My oldest child ordered a chicken rice dish called Pollo Azado that may have looked plain but tasted amazing. My youngest ordered a fajita Del Mar plate packed with shrimp and crab, which was delicious. My wife opted for a classic taco salad with a flakey crust, and I tried something called a Molcajete. This dish came in a stone bowl and was filled with shrimp, steak, chicken, cactus, and a spicy bacon-wrapped jalapeno on top. It came with beans, rice, Mexican sides, and tortillas. The Molcajete was exceptional and I couldn't get enough of it! Ignore the appearance from the outside and give this place a chance if you enjoy Mexican food in a fun, clean environment with excellent service and incredibly tasty dishes. This restaurant is a hidden gem!
